Holiday Stroll

The annual Dedham Square Holiday Stroll is a free family friendly event that kicks off the holiday season on the first Friday of December-rain or shine. The community comes together for an evening filled with fun for all ages. The shops and Square are decorated for the season, musicians and carolers fill the air with holiday tunes, creating a cheerful and festive atmosphere in Dedham Square. Santa, Mrs Claus and Elf arrive to light the tree at 6:30pm.

Visit the businesses for holiday shopping and restaurants for delicious food and drinks. Stroll tables of local business and organizations who will give away treats before Santa arrives and leads the crowd in a carol and lighting of the tree. After, Santa moves over to Orchid 7 where you can take your own picture with Santa.

Holiday Stroll Activities:

• Live music: 6-6:30 Band Gig, 6:30-7:15 Dedham School of Music, and 7:30-8 Dedham High School band

• First Church Carolers will be caroling around the Square from 6:15pm

• Santa Mrs Claus and Elf arrive to light the tree at 6:30pm

• 6:45pm - after the tree lighting, Santa, Mrs Claus & Elf will head over to Orchid 7 where you can take pictures with them

• A free craft for kids will be at the DSC craft table from 6-8pm

• The Dedham High School Varsity Cheerleaders will bring more cheer-watch them in action between 6-7pm

• Visit booths of local businesses and organizations who will be giving away treats

Merchant Specials:

• Toy and Model trains are back! The Dedham Museum & Archive will have a scale model trains running on Friday and Saturday 10-2. Enter a silent auction for 4 gift baskets.

• Boston General Store-free apple cider, cookies & Alpine old Fashioned drinks. Don’t forget to drop off a letter to Santa to the special mailbox.

• Dedham Exchange-from 5-7pm take 20% off one item (excluding handmade, Simon Pearce & Dedham Pottery)

• Orchid 7 Bar & Grille-hosting Santa after the tree lighting. Take pictures with Santa. Warm up with hot cocoa and tea & small bites to go.

• Terma-serving some Scandinavian Glogg (mulled wine)

• Kouzina Estiatorio-giving away treats

• Blue Bunny - Stop by to see Pete the Polar Bear! $10 Mystery Book Bags and Mocha Java’s fabulous hot chocolate will be for sale. The Girl Scouts will be doing face painting right outside the shop too.

• Stop by JamZone to see some singer/song writers in action and take a tour of the facility
