Welcome Back, Scoop Fans!
Feel Good Shopping! Mark your calendars folks, on Tuesday, March 1, from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Whole Foods Market Dedham will host a “5% Day” in which five percent of the store’s net sales for that day will be donated to the Dedham Square Circle to support our continued revitalization efforts in the Square! How cool is that?! It’s a great excuse to stock up on your favorites. The more you spend – the more we earn! Stop by DSC’s table at the front of the store that day as we’ll be joined by Deli After Dark and Kouzina who will sample some of their most popular menu items. You might even win a gift certificate to a Dedham Square business!
Square Jam - The Square was jammin’ last weekend as crowds flocked to Dedham Community Theatre to catch “The King’s Speech” and new film “Another Year”. There wasn’t a seat to be had in any of the Square eateries! One of our roving Scoop reporters who was out and about in the Square Saturday night tells us she met lots of people in who were visiting from other towns throughout the region. It seems the word is out that the Square is a destination filled with fascination!
Good Deed – Earlier this week Mocha Java’s Linton Levy was spotted in the Keystone Lot helping to clear snow off a car belonging to an elderly Dedham Square resident. It’s not just the places that make the Square special, it’s the people. Hats off to Linton!
Cure for Cabin Fever - Escape the winter doldrums at the Dedham Community House Mardi Gras Masquerade Party, Friday, March 4, at 7 p.m. The forecast calls for fun with masks, beads, Creole cuisine provided by Whole Foods Market, cash bar, silent auction and more!
