Who founded the DSC and when?
The Dedham Square Circle was formed in 2005 by Dedham Square business owners Peter Reynolds, owner of The Blue Bunny Books & Toys, and Paul McMurtry, owner of The Dedham Community Theatre. After taking a driving tour of surrounding communities’ downtowns, it was apparent that Dedham Square was in need of some aesthetic and economic improvements. The dynamic duo formed the Dedham Square Circle, a hybrid merchant-resident organization, whose members include local elected and town officials, property owners, residents, merchants, and employees. The “Circle” approach is all inclusive as individuals in each of these categories has a vested interest in improving the Square.
