The highly acclaimed Thoreau Piano Trio will perform a benefit concert at First Church and Parish Dedham on Saturday March 2rd, 2019 at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary. There will be a reception with members of the trio immediately following the concert in the dining room in the Parish house. Tickets are $15 at the door and will benefit First Church.
The trio will perform “For the Birds,” a program inspired by animals and exploring the connections between composers, their pets, and nature. The program will open with a piano trio that Mozart wrote during the time he owned a beloved starling, a bird which sang Mozart’s own music back to him.
Boston Voyager Magazine described the Thoreau Piano Trio as “An ensemble of depth, brilliance and conviction.” Powerful performances and imaginative programs are hallmarks of the Thoreau Piano Trio. Drawn together by a shared spirit, three acclaimed artists with concert appearances on four continents and numerous accolades including a Grammy nomination, formed the Thoreau Piano Trio to cut through tradition, explore links between music, art, literature and philosophy, inspire audiences to see in new ways and find beauty in unexpected ways. In the words of Henry David Thoreau, “live deep and suck out all the marrow of life.”
