This much-anticipated and fun-filled event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 6:30-10 p.m. at the Dedham Public Library on Church Street. This year’s theme, “Bright Lights, Big Changes,” will highlight the big changes coming soon to Dedham Square. We have much cause to celebrate! Getting Ready – The Dedham Square Improvement Project, which will make major safety and aesthetic improvements to Dedham Square, will break ground next spring. The Dedham Square Circle, in partnership with the Town of Dedham, is developing plans for “Dedham Square Is Open For Business” a comprehensive marketing and promotions campaign to continue to draw people to the Square during construction. It includes plans for special events, promotions, way finding signage and continued public relations efforts to encourage people to visit the Square and patronize the small businesses. Creativity Corner– The new Dedham Square Artist Guild continues to attract dozens of visitors to the Square each week from Dedham and surrounding towns. Even regular visitors should check back often as the art on display and for sale will be ever- changing . Different artists will be staffing the gallery each week, many of whom will be working on their craft. Feel free to pop-in, say hello and ask the resident artist about their work. Tomorrow night the Guild will have a Tarot Card reader from 6-8 pm, stop in for a free reading and check out the new pottery and handmade jewelry that’s just arrived.
Wicked Big Selection– Did you know that Deli After Dark has a selection of over 90 beers on their menu?
Neat Seat – There’s a new place to park yourself in Dedham Square! The Dedham Square Artist Guild has added a new bench in front of their shop. It’s painted green and yellow – but be on the lookout because it’s guaranteed to change colors before long.
Think Pink– Speaking of changing colors in the Square, have you spotted The Blue Bunny’s Cheryl Doucette lately? She’s sporting a stylin’ new hair color and it’s pinkalicious!
Feels like Fall – Hats off to our friends at Dedham Civic Pride for their continued efforts to beatify the Square! They’ve hung up the Avery Oak light pole banners, planted colorful mums and recently installed a handsome new "Dedham Square Crossing" sign at the corner of High and Harris Streets, all of which help make the Square more welcoming.
Ghosts and Goblins and Artists, Oh My! In celebration of 5 years in Dedham Square, Voicewize and Discover Music and Art are hosting a FREE Halloween bash as a way to express their gratitude to the community! There will be fun for the whole family, a costumepalooza, dancing, Hallo-sing-along, mask making, student and faculty performances and a lyric writing contest on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 3-6 p.m. at Allin Congregational Church, 683 High St. Visit www.discovermusicandart.com for more info.

It's a wrap! At The Dedham Exchange nonprofit gift shop you'll find oodles of beautiful scarves to keep you warm and stylish as the cooler weather arrives. Plaid, polka dot, floral- a large variety of designs and colors to suit your palate. Don’t forget the gloves and hats, too! Open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and until 8 p.m. on Thursdays until Christmas.
Save the Date– There’s only 6 weeks until the Annual Dedham Square Holiday Stroll on Friday, Dec. 2. The Dedham Square Circle Promotions Committee is busy behind-the-scenes making plans for a spectacular celebration. Stay tuned for more details!
Blue Bunny Happenings– On Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon kids are invited to create cards for Veteran's Day that will be sent to servicemen and women serving overseas, or in care packages for patients at the VA hospital. All materials provided. Next Friday, Oct. 28, they’ll host Halloween Bedtime Stories and a party from 6:30-8 p.m. Enjoy some not-so-scary Halloween stories, and help put together and decorate Halloween goodie bags for kids in shelters and hospitals with “Catching Joy.” Bring a bag of Halloween candy to donate. Costumes encouraged! Both events are free and all ages welcome.

Music Makers - Wow! Over 100 Dedham Public School students are enrolled in the Dedham School of Music’s fifth grade band instrument group lessons and third and fourth grade string instrument group lessons and the program continues to grow! Lessons are one day per week after school at each of the four elementary schools in Dedham.
