Grab Your Shovels - On Fri. Oct. 25, the Dedham Village Preservation Association will host the Gravedigger’s Gala at the Endicott Estate from 7-11 pm to raise funds for the restoration of the Old Village Cemetery.
No Gore on This Tour - On Sat. Oct. 26 at 1:30 pm the Dedham Historical Society and Museum will have a guest lecture by William Hosley: Iconography on Gravestones: The Decorative, Cultur-al, and Social History of the Carved Stones in the Old Village Cemetery. The lecture will be held in conjunction with a walking tour of the cemetery on Village Ave. Two tours will be offered at 12:15 pm and 2:45 pm . $12 DHSM members; $15 nonmembers. Hey Boys and Ghouls! Dedham Square Circle is hosting our Annual Dedham Square Trunk or Treat event on Sat. Oct. 26 from 3-5 pm in town hall parking lot. A free event for kids of all ages to come in costume for an after-noon of family friendly trick-or-treating at over 20 cars decorated by local businesses and organizations. Face painting, bouncy house, games, DJ and more. After the event, trick-or-treat at merchants throughout the Square!
Night of the Living Deadham - Later that evening, on October 26, DSC is hosting a new and much-anticipated Halloween event just for grownups. Zombies will infiltrate the Square for a ghoulish gathering where a dance troupe will lead a performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Cash prizes for best zombie costumes, DJ/dancing and zombie karaoke at the Dedham Square Coffeehouse and a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Dedham CommunityTheatre at11 pm. Square restaurants will have menu and drink specials to tie-in with the evening’s theme. Start planning your costumes now!
