Volunteer Opportunities

The Dedham Square Circle is a grassroots organization that relies on volunteers to help us fulfill our mission.  There are always ample opportunities for volunteers to be involved, no matter how much or how little time you are able to give.

Periodic Volunteer Needs:

Organizational/Administrative

We are often in need of volunteers to lend a hand with administrative tasks such as hanging fliers around town, preparing mailings, data entry and running errands. 

Event Volunteers

Are you able to help set up equipment, sell tickets at an event, staff an informational table or be an extra set of hands? We are always looking for volunteers to help out the "day of" an event.

Community Service Hours

We welcome support from students seeking to earn community service hours.  Upon completion of a volunteer assignment, a letter will be provided to each student to document the time he or she volunteered.

DSC Committee Assignments:

Serving on a DSC Committee involves working with a group of volunteers on specific projects and initiatives to improve the Square.  A time commitment  of a few hours a month is needed to complete assignments and attend a Committee meeting.

Development Committee
Helps with membership, fundraising and partnership development to support our revitalization efforts in the Square.  The Development Committee also plans the Annual Fall Gala and a spring "friend-raiser".
 
Promotions Committee
Sells a positive image of the Square  and encourages people to live, work, shop, play and invest here through advertising, retail promotional activity, special events, and marketing campaigns. These activities improve consumer and investor confidence in the Square and encourage commercial activity and investment in the area and they're fun!

Design Committee
Works on getting Dedham Square into top physical shape. An inviting atmosphere, created through attractive window displays, parking areas, building improvements, street furniture, signs, sidewalks, street lights, and landscaping, conveys a positive visual message about the Square and what it has to offer. Design activities also include instilling good maintenance practices in the commercial district, enhancing the physical appearance of the commercial district by rehabilitating historic buildings, encouraging appropriate new construction, developing sensitive design management systems, and long-term planning.

Economic Development Committee
Aims to strengthen the Square's existing economic assets while expanding and diversifying its economic base.
