Cherokee Trophy owner Mike Humphrey has been a fixture in the Square since 1988 when he took over the business from his father who started it in 1978 and later moved it to the Square in 1985. Mike’s shop is located at 359 Washington Street next to the Knights of Columbus Building and is easily found by the trademark Cherokee Indian on his storefront sign. Back in the 70’s, “The Fish Market” was next door, selling fresh fish and seafood up until it closed in the early 90’s. Standing on the street corner, Mike can point around the Square and tell you about which businesses used to be where when he was a kid.
Cherokee Trophy sells a wide selection of trophies and plaques and offers many options for custom engraving, screen printing and embroidery. Whether you need team shirts, hats or bumper stickers, or wish to have your baby’s shoes bronzed, Mike is the guy to see! Cherokee has been a generous sponsor of many local organizations and on top of running his own successful business, Mike, a lifelong Dedham resident, has made time to be very involved in the community. He has served on the town’s By-Law Review Committee, the Master Plan Committee and the Ad Hoc Sign By-Law Committee and was Chair of the Moratorium Study Committee and a Town Meeting member. Stop in to see Mike and what Cherokee Trophy has to offer or call the shop at 781. 329.3147.
