Faces of the Square: Meet Jennifer Gibbs

It’s been five years since Maribu opened its doors in Dedham Square, offering affordable fashions and accessories for women. Co-owner Jennifer Gibbs, a Texas native, joined the business in early 2005, partnering with Dedham resident, Mary Burke, who met Jennifer during her stint as a sales rep. for Ganz.  It’s Jennifer’s smiling face you see when you walk into Maribu, offering a warm welcome.  She’s glad to help you pick out the perfect jewelry and accessories to match your outfit and make suggestions as you browse for a gift.  A cozy shop with a colorful array of jewelry, scarves, sunglasses, purses, wallets, sunglasses, and much more, Maribu is a collection of the latest fashion accessories Jennifer finds at New York trade shows and in magazines. 

Jennifer admits her favorite part of running Maribu is interacting with the customers. Almost on a daily basis, new customers come into the shop.  “I love meeting new people,” she said, “but I really enjoy the continued relationships I have with longtime customers as I get to know their tastes, what they like.”   Jennifer lives in Dedham with her husband, Mike, and their two children, Lilly, age 3 and Alex, age 1.  “I am really glad to be part of Dedham Square,” she said.   Stop in to see what Maribu is all about.
