
2010 Schedule of Events:
6.17.10 - Opening Day! Come by to purchase a rain barrel or compost bin as the Town's Environmental Coordinator, Virginia LeClair, will be at the market.
6.23.10 - Abby & Sarah Kahler, also known as "Fiddlestix", will play fun and fanciful violin tunes for your listening pleasure from 12-3. Donations to the Dedham Food Pantry gladly accepted. 6.30.10 - Green City Growers will be on hand to give out free seeds. Learn more about having a raised vegetable garden in your own backyard. Whole Foods Market Dedham will host a booth where they'll give out free samples of Pirate's Booty and 365 juice boxes.
7.7.10 - Heifer International will have an educational board to teach children about animals. Kids make an animal crown to bring home.
7.14.10 - Blue Hills Observatory joins us. Kids can learn how to make a kite. Whole FoodsMarket Dedham will give out free samples of "Kind" bars and share info. with kids about where your food comes from.
7.21.10 - Local potter Maggie Furtak, whose work is sold at The Dedham Exchange, will be on hand to give a demo of her potters wheel. Tamara Leclerc of Caraig Farm will demo how to spin wool on her spinning wheel. Flutest Jessica MacLean will perform for your listening pleasure.
7.28.10 - Dedham Historical Society launches its historical walking tour of Dedham Village, done in collaboration with Dedham Square Circle. The town's Environmental Dept. will have compost bins for sale. Local artist Brendan Hayes teaches kids the art of whittling birds, musician Sarah Blacker performs from 5-6.
8.4.10 - Husband and wife duo Colleen and Justin Kleya, "The Grass Gypsys" perform. The Dedham 9's baseball team holds a raffle fundraiser.
8.11.10 - Eileen Kelly of Sheepskate will teach children how to finger knit. Local beekeeper Peter Smith will share info. on the art of beekeeping.
8.18.10 - Town's Environmental Dept. will have compost bins and info. on composting available. Local non-profit "Hope in Bloom".
8.25.10 - The Grass Gypsys perform. |
